Project Brief

From the exterior, there are ubiquitous façade designs with the style of interspersion of virtuality and reality. On one side of the porch, there is a wall and large LED display, making a solid and stable effect at the entrance. The dangling stairs reduces oppressive feeling to visitors. On the other side of the porch, with the edges from rhombus cuts, there is a vertically inclined plane wrapped by a rectangular body. One side of the inclined plane is structured as a wall, and another side is extended by windows, which create fun in space by interspersions of virtuality and reality.

Project Need

When coming into the porch along the stairs, there is a sector counter in sight. The corner space, by interior rhombus segmentation, creates an amiable sector space for welcoming guests with clever imitation by curved stone desktop. The images of trees, behind the counter, are created by complex cuts of boards. Furthermore, on the both sides of the images, the reflections effect from mirrors not only visualize the segregation between walls and ceilings, but also creates a visual effect with both a circle in a rectangular and a rectangular in a circle.

Design Challenge

After entering the meeting space, there are individual rhombus areas forming a series of arches, at which people can meet on one side and the other side is used as a gallery. The installment of the arches is used as an extension effect created by rhombus space, and it breaks the original vertical-and-horizontal lines and creates abundant visual effect in transparent space.

Sustainability

From the perspective of construction materials and paints, there are dialogues in this building by using both the bronze gold friezes as the cover for the massing and stone mosaics. In the field of lights, the designer ingeniously used recessed light and crystal chandelier to separate the differences between meeting space and gallery.
